Study of a skull.

skull_gif_webThis is a digital drawing, made using a WACOM tablet. I turned the skull a little for each drawing, then looped them together into an animation. It took many hours, and gave me a headache, but I learned a lot during the process, and after the skull experiment I started to think more in three-dimensions when out drawing people.

The Urban Yeti.

UntitledThe Urban Yeti is a shy creature that flourishes in a habitat covered by a wireless network. The species is highly dependent on Lattes as it’s primary food source, which is consumed in copious volumes. A curious form of communication has evolved, particular to the species, that involves the creature’s thumbs and some sort of telepathy, enabling individuals to interact with each other over great distances, unbound by their geographical location. Currently, the Urban Yeti is not an endangered species, although future extinction cannot be ruled out.

The return of old herring bones.

herringbone_web

I was drawing at a busy mall yesterday when I had the good fortune to catch up with one of my favourite muses, old herring bones, so-called because of his herring bone pattern coat. (See, Hot off the press, posted 4th February.) This time round he had the good grace to take his Ushanka off, and in a rare moment of contemplation, paused long enough for me to capture his dour expression.
